What It’s All About
So who am I and why the hell should I do a film blog? I ask myself that all the time, but I’ve been told by more than a few people I should devote some time to a blog and discuss my thoughts on film. I do this in several places already namely my weekly film podcast I do called The Midnight Matinee Podcast. Every week my intrepid co-host Eric (who gave me the eponymous title of this blog…shoutout!) discuss movies and I argue with him about why romantic comedies suck. You can find it on iTunes or our official websitewww.midnightmatineepodcast.com. I also am the film editor and movie reviewer to two entertainment websites www.cc2konline.com and www.enewsi.com. So not only is my plate filled with film, but I do have some film experience if I do say so myself. I add on a heaping helping of school where I major in English (allowing me to add some biting prose to this blog) and I should make a pretty snazzy film blogger.
What can people expect? A bit of this, a bit of that, a lot of films. I want to discuss films that I don’t normally discuss in-depth in the above mentioned venues. Sure I’ll provide links to my new reviews but I want to discuss more classic cinema and movies off the beaten path. Occasionally I’ll try to do some long-form analysis of particular films. If anyone has ideas for articles, or films they want to me to watch I’m open to whatever. Also if you can spread this URL to whoever, I’d like to get a following on here so I’m not just writing about film in a darkened room (not that I don’t do that already). Here goes a grand experiment that hopefully I won’t abandon after a week!
