What’s On Tap for the Future…
This is part update/part what I’m hoping to accomplish over the rest of the summer and beyond and gather my thoughts. Either way it gives you guys a second post to compliment my review of Gidget. Not to mention I can kindly nudge you towards voting in this week’s Leading Man poll (if you haven’t already) and/or entering the contest (if you haven’t already). So what’s going on in the world of blogathons, book reviews, and films you’ll be seeing here?
Appearance: Before I forget, I’ve gotten a lot of lovely comments about the changing in appearance of the blog itself. I’ve been striving to find a theme that’s streamlined, polish, and just makes this look professional and I think I’ve found it. I’ll be keeping this look for the foreseeable future!
Blogathons: There’s a lot of blogathons for me in the pipeline (I swear I have trouble turning down these things…I should seek help). I’ll be participating in Round 2 of the Future Classic Movie blogathon, my post will be on Wednesday. I’ll also be contributing to the upcoming LAMB Acting School and The Movie Projector’s William Wyler blogathon. July and August will also see appearances from me in The Best Hitchcock Films Hitchcock Never Made and The Great Recasting blogathons as well as providing more entries into the Cinematic World Tour. Phew! I’m also hoping to do my own blogathon around September so stay tuned for that (I’m looking into finding a co-host if anyone’s interested).
Book Reviews: I’ve been a bit lax on the book reviews but I’m working on finishing up Hollywood Unknowns about the extras and bit players of the 20s-30s. That should be up in a week or two. I also have reviews on tap for the upcoming biography on actor Michael Douglas and another Marilyn Monroe book (hope you guys aren’t sick of Ms. Monroe).
Film Reviews: I really need to start turning over more movies. My Netflix Top 10 has sort of stalled considering I haven’t turned over my Netflix nor has my TCM Top 12’s been covered. Films in the pipeline include more documentaries on the Wizard of Oz and Irving Thalberg. I’ll be covering the films in the latest Frank Capra box-set. I’ll also be reviewing the complete Thin Man box set as well as the various Fox Studios Classic series and working through my Disney Vault series. Reader Requests will also be worked through!
Ads/Donating: I have been accepted as part of WordAds, the WordPress service so if you can click on the ads at the bottom of the entries every now and then I get a little kickback (and if you want…you can always mute them and continue reading…I won’t tell). I’m contemplating adding some type of PayPal donation thing although I doubt many would donate and I’m not asking, it would just be nice lol.
Lots of things going on and very little time to do it all in! If there’s anything you’d like me to do on the blog (short of illegal activities and/or standing on my head) don’t hesitate to email me at the official blog email journeysinclassicfilm(at)gmail.com!

Lots of interesting things coming up. I think I’m due for an update post actually.
Yeah I wanted to gather all my thoughts of what I actually need to get started before summer’s end lol. Looking forward to your update post!
Sounds like you have some great stuff in the works! You’ll have to let me know if the WordAds program is worthwhile. I have an invite, but I would need to change my layout to join. Not sure if I want to go through that whole process again, but some extra $$$ would be nice. 😀
Great stuff yes…will I actually accomplish it all in a timely manner is the question! I just got my first month of WordAds and it’s pretty pitiful (about 2 bucks). There’s a lot of mystery over how much money bloggers get to keep and I can’t actually utilize the money until I crack 100 dollars (which at this rate will take awhile). Then again I guess two bucks blogging is better than no bucks. I’ll keep you posted!
Also, I like the new design. Good job!
Thanks!
