The Lake Update for November 2013

LakeUpdate

Another month with some insanely awesome news, so let’s not waste another minute!  Click the link and let’s talk about November and beyond!

Next week marks the second anniversary of Journeys in Classic Film!  I’ve mentioned this a few times before, but that anniversary surprises me the most because I never, in my wildest dreams, expected to keep this blog going for so long!  I’ve met so many fantastic people, readers, commenters, and contacts it simply stuns me.  And how fortuitous that I’ve been presented with an opportunity to unofficially celebrate this upcoming milestone.  I’ll be going down to Los Angeles next week to take a blogger-exclusive tour of the Warner Brothers studios!  They’re celebrating their 90th anniversary and have asked a slew of awesome people, including myself, to cover the tour.  I am tickled pink to get this opportunity and will be posting a huge tribute to the studio, and give you something fantastic in honor of two-years reading Journeys in Classic Film!  I’m hoping to squeeze a side trip in to the Walk of Fame to find Miss. Veronica Lake‘s star, but there’s no guarantees on that.

I’ll be finishing up the Journeys in the Disney Vault series this month with Frozen being the current Disney feature out right now.  As much as I’m surprised this blog is still running, I’m shocked to have watched and reviewed every Disney animated movie out there!  I’ll have a final wrap-up of the series – charting my favorites and least favorites – on December 7th and we’ll be closing the Disney Vault door.  With that being said, what’s the next series I should tackle?  I’m tempted to bring back Biopic Theater, especially considering the wealth of upcoming biopics.  Or I’ve been talking about a Friday Night Fright Fest wherein I devote a Friday to a horror film.  Or should I just take a break for a while?  I will be taking a break between December 7th to the New Year with series, but feel free to let me know via Twitter, Facebook, or blog comments.

That’s all the major news right now.  With school winding down and the holidays approaching I’m hoping to get back into reviewing and whatnot for the next few months.  I can’t wait to celebrate another year of blogging with all you amazing readers!  Till next month!
