News From the Lake for October 1st, 2014
An uneventful news post for the week with a couple new items to add to your Amazon and ClassicFlix queues (see what I did there?).
New on DVD and Blu-ray
Warner Archive: Warner sneakily released two Olivia De Havilland films, one made before her iconic turn in Gone With the Wind; Wings of the Navy (1939) and Government Girl (1943).
Kino: Kino’s off-shoot label, KL Studio Classics, unveiled two new films to DVD and Blu-ray: The Quatermass Xperiment (1955) and Barbara Stanwyck in Witness to Murder (1954). Only Witness will be available on both DVD and Blu, whereas Quatermass is only coming to Blu. So far the only bonus content is the theatrical trailer for Witness to Murder. Both will be available December 2nd.
Fox Cinema Archives: Two new comedies coming out via Fox Cinema Archives: The Ritz Brothers in Life Begins at College (1937), and Cesar Romero in Tall, Dark and Handsome (1941).
