Hello awesome Journeys in Classic Film fans! September is over and we’re getting down to the final months of the year, but before that happens things are going to get spooky! Before that though, September was a pretty amazing month with a whopping 864 views going to my review of the fabulous Illeana Douglas’ autobiography, I Blame Dennis Hopper. The review went viral, well, viral for me, with Judd Apatow, Tom Arnold, and Garry Shandling all passing it along. I’ve been fortunate to have TCM endorse a post here or there, but this is the first time something from my site truly blew up and was acknowledged by heavy hitters!
With that, Halloween will be here all month long with the focus being haunted house themed films. (Monsters and haunted houses tied in the poll, so I’ll try to include a few haunted house movies with monsters in them.) I’ll be posting often with both theme-specific films and other titles with horror theme bents, so look for a review of Kino’s Burn Witch Burn Blu-ray and the like.
Later in the month and into November be sure to look for my reviews of both Women He’s Undressed, the new documentary about studio costumer Orry-Kelly, and Tab Hunter Confidential. (I’m also hoping to get an interview with Hunter so feel free to send me your questions.)
Hope you don’t get too scared this month!
