The Lake Update for December 2015
Another year is soon to pass us by and we just celebrated the fourth year of Journeys in Classic Film. As Christmas and the end of the year rolls around I’ll be publishing several past 25 Days of Christmas posts.
Rereading these reminds me of how new and exciting blogging was for me, and that’s being melancholic. Journeys in Classic Film has become my calling card and has segued from a fun part-time activity to something I take very seriously. I don’t often say it, but I labor over my reviews, constantly analyzing word choice so you don’t feel you’re reading stock “I loved it/hated it because…” stuff. As I’ve transitioned into working in other areas, Journeys in Classic Film always remains my priority, even when several reviews are ones I’ve originally published in other areas, and I hope you still find the same high quality work time and time again.
With that being said, this last month of the year will see us celebrating Christmas, so look for a bunch of Christmas reviews, both from years past and recently; I’ll also be doing a few Mint in the Box reviews that you can add to your Amazon cart (and be sure to check out my holiday gift guide if you haven’t already!). Also, look for my interview with voice actress, Robin Bittman, otherwise known as the voice of TCM’s on-air guides and Now Playing! This was a great interview and between Robin and Tab Hunter this year was amazing for interviews!
As the month closes out you’ll see several year-end wrap-ups honoring the site’s accomplishments as well as the best and worst studio era films I watched this year! Remember, don’t be a stranger. If you have comments, suggestions, movies you’d love to see reviewed or columns you’d like to see, don’t hesitate to leave a comment, email me or send me a Tweet/Facebook message. I wish all of you a happy holiday season filled with joy, happiness, and classic films!
