GetTV has a lot planned for January. The network just announced they’ll be airing the legendary episode of The Judy Garland Show with special guest Barbra Streisand on January 25th, as well as Martin Luther King Jr.’s appearance on the Merv Griffin Show to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. day on January 18th. On the movies front, you can enjoy Chester Morris as Boston Blackie every Thursday this month, and Cary Grant takes over Fridays. Special showings of Gilda (1946) and a 40th anniversary screening of Murder By Death (1976) are also planned. You can find complete details at getTV’s website.

If you aren’t planning to attend this year’s TCM Classic Film Festival and/or you live on the East Coast, then you might want to secure tickets to the 2nd annual Nitrate Picture Show festival taking place on the same weekend. Tickets went on sale Monday and if word on last year’s inaugural festival is anything to go by this should be another amazing event. You can purchase tickets and learn more at the Eastman Museum website.

New on DVD and Blu-ray

Warner Archive: Warner Archive announced they’ll release Alfred Hitchcock’s The Wrong Man (1956) for the first time on Blu-ray on January 26th.
