If you’re in the Los Angeles area this weekend be sure to stop by the Aero Theatre for a screening of On the Waterfront (1954) presented by the American Cinematheque. Production designer Wynn Thomas will be on-hand after the film for a Q&A session along with ADG Film Society Co-director and Production Designer John Muto. New on DVD and Blu-ray

Kino: Kino is presenting several amazing titles on Blu-ray in September. On September 6th you can pick up Daddy Long Legs (1955). Films noir Cry of the City and Road House (1958) as well as Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler will arrive September 13th. And The Enemy Below (1957) directed by Dick Powell and Fixed Bayonets (1951) with a 4K restoration will debut on September 20th.

Universal Vault: It’s been seven months since Universal did anything with their Vault series and things return with Alan Ladd’s And Now Tomorrow (1944). This was originally meant to be included on TCM’s 1940s Alan Ladd set last year, but for some reason it was excised last minute and is now being put out by Universal, along with the other films TCM did put on that set.
